The 2009 Northeastern WI Baseball League season is well underway!

Almost halfway through the season, the Sheboygan A's are on top of the League standings with a flawless 9-0 record.  Last year's defending champions, the Manitowoc Bandits, are 3 1/2 games back in second place, followed by the Appleton Legends in third place.  Keep watching the site for updates on the standings throughout the season.

We're also only 9 days away from the NEWBL/SEWBL All-Star Game on July 11th, hosted this year in Burlington, WI by the Southeastern WI Baseball League.  The Northeastern League will try to remain perfect against the SE All-Stars as they've won the interleague contest the last 3 meetings.

Keep watching the site for updates!

The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League has announced the winners of the post-season awards and the All-League Teams.

Earning the 2008 Most Valuable Player award is middle infielder, Grant Berkovitz of the Sheboygan A's.  Berkovitz led the NEWBL in doubles (t10), triples (t2), and runs scored (34).  He also batted .393 and drove in 17 runs while leading Sheboygan to a second place finish in the NEWBL.  Berkovitz's solid defense also helped him win the award.

Fellow Sheboygan teammate and right-handed pitcher, Cody Griebling won the League's 2008 Most Valuable Pitcher award.  Griebling was a flawless 4-0 and carried a league-low 0.77 ERA.  Griebling gave up just 3 earned runs while striking out 25 batters in 35 innings.

Adam Linsmeyer of the De Pere River Bandits took home 2008 Rookie of the Year honors as the league's top rookie giving De Pere it's second such honor in as many years (Jeff Riddle, 2007 ROY).  Linsmeyer, a left-handed pitcher, went 4-1 with a 1.00 ERA.  He also struck out 36 batters in 45 innings of work.
